Melania Trump: Bad Taste in Husbands, Good Taste in Clothes

Melania Trump is a very controversial topic. In my opinion, she is married to one of the worst presidents of all time. However, if there is one thing we can appreciate about Trump’s time in office, it’s Melania’s outfits. Melania has the best “first lady” style since Jackie Kennedy. Her looks are classic and sophisticated, and we can all take some style inspiration and tips. Below, are my favorite Melania looks, and perhaps you can learn to appreciate her clothing as well.

The look that Melania wore to Trump’s inauguration is very similar to what Jackie Kennedy wore to JFK’s. Melania also once mentioned that if she would ever become first lady, she would look to Jackie for inspiration, so I’m assuming this outfit is a nod to her. Jackie wore a coat in a very similar shade, with similar sleeve lengths as well. However, Jackie’s outfit was designed by her personal courtier Oleg Cassini, while Melania’s was by Ralph Lauren.

This Fendi coat is amazing. I love, love, love the hot pink furry cuffs. The pink plaid is also a unique twist, making for a show-stopping look. The nude heels are a nice finish, as they don’t overpower the coat.

Melania worse this pink ensemble to a debate in October, 2016. I love pussycat-bow blouses, and this pink one is very chic. I’m usually not a fan of wearing bright colors, especially in the fall, but this look is fun and fabulous.

Melania looked absolutely fabulous during her time in Egypt on the last leg of her trip to Africa. For her trip to the pyramids, Melania is wearing a Ralph Lauren blazer, white wide-leg pants, a white fedora (which I think is Chanel), a white Chanel blouse with a black tie, and cream and black Chanel flats: feminine touches on a traditionally masculine look.

This Dole & Gabanna LBD is so chic. I love the bows and the little charms attached to them. It’s simple, yet glamorous. The look is finished off with a pair of silver heels and a diamond bracelet. It’s very festive for a New Year’s Eve celebration.

For Melania’s fist official White House appearance, she chose a white skirt suit designed by Karl Lagerfeld. This look is very refined and elegant, and the popped collar adds a little extra flair.

Melania looks super chic in this casual outfit for jetting off to Poland. She is wearing a black cashmere sweater, pink and black checked trousers, black pumps, and square sunglasses. The watermark is hiding a black crocodile Birkin (which happens to be the bag of my dreams). I love cotton trousers, and these can also be a great alternative to jeans. This is a great casual outfit this is comfortable, yet elegant.

This look is a fun twist on the power suit. This powder-pink matching set is from Calvin Klein. I love a double-breasted jacket and white blouse combination, and the matching trousers make the look even more powerful. If you want to make this look more casual, swapping out the trousers for a pair of jeans will make it ready for everyday wear.
