Five Ways to Style a Classic Strand of Pearls

There is nothing more elegant or classic than a pearl necklace. It was a favorite of Jackie Kennedy during her time in the White House, Coco Chanel wore one during one of her most famous portraits, and classy women sport them every day. If you instantly want to elevate your look, just add a strand of pearls and you will immediately look like the sophisticated woman you are. Below, are five ways to style the classic pearl strand.

Three Strand

The three strand style is perhaps as classic as it gets. In order to achieve this look, first place the strand around your neck. Then, loop it twice and adjust it so that the strands are even.

One Strand with Knot

This style is my absolute favorite! To achieve this look, first place the strand around your neck. Then, loop it once. Next, pull the pearls out, and place your left fingers in the middle. Take the remainder of the pearls with your right hand, and wrap them around your left pointer and left middle finger, then pull them through. Adjust the knot as needed.

Two Stand with Ribbon

This style is a super chic and playful way to add a bit of character. First, find any ribbon you have around your house. I just used a black one I got on Glossier packaging a few years ago. Another cute idea is to use a designer cosmetic packaging ribbon, like one from Chanel. First, take the strand and hold it out in front of you with your thumbs. Then, loop the ribbon through both sides and tie it in a knot. Place the pearls around your neck, and then tie the ribbon into a bow.

Three Strand Choker

Even though chokers may have gone out of style in 2017, a pearl one never ceases to be chic. First, place the strand around your neck. Then, tightly loop it twice. Once you do that, you will find that the bottom strand is loose. Therefore, adjust it so that the last strand falls down your back.

One Strand

Last but not least, the simple yet stunning one strand style. First, place the strand around your neck. Then, tie a knot (as shown in style #2) to the length of your preference. Push the knot and remaining pearls over your shoulder, and adjust as needed.
